Perfect Protein Fusion

Pea Protein

  • The digestibility of Nutralys brand of pea protein is 97% and the protein digestibility corrected amino acid score (PDCAAS) is 93 %.
  • Pea protein showed strongest effects on CCK release compared to other dietary proteins, in an intestinal cell model.
  • Duodenal biopsies of 10 healthy male subjects and 10 male rats showed that pea and wheat protein are the most potent stimulators of CCK and GLP-1 release in human duodenal tissue, and may therefore be good dietary additives in weight management.
  • Another study on the effect of pea protein (Nutraly's brand) on satiety hormone release in rats showed an increase in the level of CCK, comparable to the effect of whey protein.
  • The effect of pea protein isolate and casein was evaluated in rats fed with hypercholesterolemic diets for 28 days. Lower plasma cholesterol and triglyceride levels were observed in rats fed with pea protein isolate versus casein, these results were statistically significant. Mechanism of action of pea proteins in the regulation of cellular lipid homeostasis was by up regulation of genes involved in hepatic cholesterol uptake and by down regulation of fatty acid synthesis genes.
  • Rats fed a pea protein diet had a lower concentration of total cholesterol and very low density lipoproteins (VLDL) fraction in the liver than rats fed a casein diet. Pea protein also stimulates formation and excretion of bile acids, which leads to a reduced hepatic cholesterol concentration and a reduced secretion of cholesterol via VLDL.

Rice Protein

  • Rice protein is a good source of branched chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine and valine, which reduce protein catabolism and stimulate protein synthesis. Digestibility of Oryzatein brand rice protein is estimated as 100%.
  • In a mouse-model of atherosclerosis, rice feeding inhibited the formation of lesions in the aorta.
  • In a recent study, rice protein improved insulin sensitivity and serum and liver cholesterol levels in rats fed with high fat/high cholesterol diets. The effect of rice protein isolate feeding (RPI) on a messenger protein called peroxisome proliferate activated receptor alpha (PPAR alpha) signaling appeared to be direct and was reversed when RPI diets were switched to casein.
  • In another experiment, increased liver triglyceride content, hypercholesterolemia and insulin resistance in 'Western' diet-fed rats were partially prevented by feeding rice protein isolate. Here, the attenuation of metabolic syndrome observed in rice protein isolate-fed rats after consumption of diets high in fat and cholesterol occur as a result of improved lipid and glucose homeostasis partly as a result of activation of a set of messenger proteins called peroxisome proliferated activated receptors or PPARs.

Read what people say about the product

I have been experimenting with nutrition supplementation since I first found the barbell in high school. Granted back then I was more into NO Explode, Muscle Milk, partial range of motion bench press, and bicep curls. For the last year I have gotten serious with my training in the pursuit of becoming a competitive weightlifter. Kairos's Athlete Package has been a key part of my preworkout nutrition and recovery. The products are high quality and each is specifically engineered to fulfill an essential nutritional need for the advanced athlete. My training sessions often last 2-3 hours and other than a coffee, Kairos keeps me going. In the last year I have added 46kg to my total, qualified for the American Open, and will soon be qualified for Nationals. I rely on the Athlete stack to help keep me on track to achieving my goals and can't recommend their products highly enough.
